Free Inclusive Skate
Celebrate inclusivity at this free, all-ages public skate hosted by the Township of Scugog in partnership with North Durham Pride. Enjoy dimmed lights, high-energy music from a live DJ, glow sticks, drag performances, crafts, and community resources. Skaters are encouraged to wear bright, colourful attire to help light up the rink. Free hot chocolate provided.
2026 Laugh Out Proud
North Durham Pride is thrilled to announce the return of Laugh Out Proud in 2026, featuring the incomparable Elvira Kurt live at Greenbank Hall! This year, Elvira will be joined by a surprise special guest, guaranteed to kick off the night with big laughs before Elvira takes the stage.
Laugh Out Proud is a signature event launching the North Durham Pride season, bringing our community together through humour, connection, and celebration. Get ready for an intimate, high-energy evening of comedy that sets the tone for an exciting year ahead with North Durham Pride.
A Toronto native and veteran of Second City, Elvira Kurt is a trailblazing, blazer-wearing comedy icon. From hosting her own prime-time talk show, popcultured with Elvira Kurt, to acclaimed comedy specials and countless performances across Canada and around the world, Kurt’s career spans decades of groundbreaking work. One of the first openly gay stand-up comedians, Elvira is celebrated not only for her razor-sharp wit but also for her lasting impact on queer visibility in comedy. Her extensive television credits include writing and performing on Baroness von Sketch Show, appearing in I Have Nothing, serving as a judge on The Second City’s Next Comedy Legend, and hosting the Mark Burnett–produced game show Spin Off. Behind the scenes, Kurt continues to lend her creative talents to major productions such as The Great Canadian Pottery Throwdown, Drink Masters, Canada’s Drag Race, and The Great Canadian Baking Show. Her work has been recognized by the Canadian Screen Awards, Canadian Comedy Awards, Toronto Fringe Festival, and the Cannes Short Film Showcase.
More than just a comedy show, Laugh Out Proud is a celebration of inclusion, joy, and community. Join us as we come together to honour the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and kick off another vibrant year of Pride in North Durham. The first-ever North Durham Pride Country Festival in Port Perry replaces the previous Scugog Pride Celebration with a community-focused event celebrating the region’s unique culture, agricultural roots, and small-town pride. Attendees can enjoy a full day of entertainment, local flavors, games, and vibrant displays of 2SLGBTQIA+ pride, providing an inclusive space for residents and visitors to connect and experience the heart and spirit of North Durham.

Pride After Dark

The first-ever evening Pride celebration in downtown Uxbridge, North Durham Pride After Dark replaces the previous Uxbridge Pride Celebration with a more unique and exciting experience. The street will be closed to traffic, creating an immersive, pedestrian-friendly environment featuring live entertainment, interactive art installations, and a curated selection of local vendors. This event highlights the rich arts and culture of North Durham while providing an inclusive space for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and the broader public, emphasizing connection, celebration, and the theme of Cultivating Community.
